My research focuses on the epigenetic regulation of stem cell aging and its contribution to age-related diseases, particularly osteoporosis. Using bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), we investigate how aging, diet, and lifestyle alter the epigenome to influence stem cell function, tissue regeneration, and lifespan. Our work examines key aspects of stem cell biology, including senescence, differentiation, metabolism, oxidative stress, and gene regulation.
Through human and mouse studies, we employ genomic and epigenomic technologies to identify pathways that drive stem cell aging and degeneration. Our ultimate goal is to develop strategies that rejuvenate aging stem cells, enhance tissue repair, and improve healthy aging.
